  • Joel Stillman

Joel E. Stillman, J.D., CFP, CLU

Knowing everything about the financial condition of the people I work with is paramount. If I don’t, it’s a disservice. Making a suggestion in one area may appear to be a good idea, until you discover how it affects other facets of their financial life.”

He is an attorney, a Certified Financial Planner, a Chartered Life Underwriter, and a member of the Financial Planning Association. • Josh Stillman

    Josh Stillman, CFP®, MBA

“What does money mean to you? I do not believe there is one "right" financial decision for every situation, which is why I believes the best way to manage financial affairs is to work through a process to articulate underlying values, beliefs, and desires as a foundation for financial decision-making.

Josh Stillman joined Capitol Financial Consultants in 2014 as the Director of Financial Planning. In years prior, Josh was an Engagement Manager for Booz & Company in the strategy practice. He led consulting projects with energy companies on their most important strategic issues including financial business cases, operating model design, performance excellence, new technology introduction, market strategy, pricing, and integrated planning processes. Josh received his BSE in Bioengineering from University of Pennsylvania cum Laude, his MBA from University of Texas at Austin, Dean’s Award, and CFP® education from the American College.

Josh is also Co-Founder and Co-Organizer of TEDxTysons, encouraging the spread of big ideas; Board Member and Treasurer of Edge City USA focused on supporting community, education, and philanthropy in Tysons; and Board Member and Director of Admissions of Minds Matter of Washington DC, which works to transform the lives of accomplished high school students from low-income DC families by broadening their opportunities and preparing them for college success.

ON A MORE PERSONAL NOTE: “My curiosity steers my interests in many directions. I play guitar and have recorded a LP and EP with a former band. I also enjoy running, cooking, photography, golf, gardening, reading, and spending as much time as possible with my wife and two boys.”
