What Makes CFC Different

Holistic and Comprehensive

We don’t just manage money; we do more, much more. Our holistic approach integrates and considers all areas of your financial life. We consider the total relative effects of making any financial decision since action in one financial area may have an adverse impact on others. We believe that knowing all of the potential consequences of each decision is the only way to give you the confidence and comfort necessary to take action in line with your goals and objectives.

Tailored and Personalized

While it is common practice to make recommendations based on population averages, we recognize that no one is perfectly average. Our advice and recommendations are validated by consistently addressing and answering two questions: is it good, and is it good for you?

With us, there are no model portfolios, no generic assumptions, and no boilerplate advice. Our guidance is of course based on specialized knowledge, but it is more importantly based on you.

To identify what is good for you, we need to know you. Your financial plan is built on your specific financial situation by following our time-tested Path to Achieve Process.

Rigor

The analysis of your financial information is extremely detailed. We don’t take estimates and ranges. We collect actual statements from cash accounts, brokerage accounts, tax returns, insurance contracts, estate documents, loan notes, and much more. Oftentimes, the devil is in the details, and we want to make sure no mistakes are made. The rigorous analysis of your financial situation is married with our specialized knowledge of and experience in the complexity of financial decisions, tools, and products.

Ongoing Monitoring

We strongly believe that for a financial plan to be effective, it must be current. Financial circumstances can change rapidly and financial goals and objectives evolve. Even the smallest change can have a dramatic impact on an otherwise sound financial plan.

Not only do we monitor your situation throughout the year, but we also renew your financial plan annually by restarting our financial planning methodology, the Path to Achieve Process. We incorporate new developments in your life, changes to your financial needs, and a refreshed analysis of your financial situation. We review implementation of past recommendations and new considerations based on how your situation has evolved.

Ongoing, consistent monitoring proves effective in handling unforeseen financial obstacles and life-changing events. While roller-coaster-type situations such as unintended early retirement, divorce, caring for a dependent with a debilitation, or adjusting to a significant change in wealth are typically unexpected, we are in a position to readily incorporate these developments into your plan and adjust course. By partnering with you along the way, we are by your side to tackle all of life’s challenges.

Full Service

Our compensation structure is aligned with your interests. There is no clock or per-consultation fee. Keep in mind that that if another planner offers to develop a one-time plan for you for a small fee, you must ask yourself how that professional can make a living in such a manner. Either that person makes a cursory effort to free up time to serve enough clients, intends to sell you something as a result of the plan, or both.

In contrast, we want you to succeed and are here to help you do so. The financial plan is not a service for selling a product, the service is the product.

Lifelong Partnership

We don’t work for you, we work with you. Our clients are smart, successful people looking for a partner. By partnering with you, we will know as much about you as you do. Not unlike a company CFO consulting with the CEO on all financial matters, we work together on all of your financial affairs, whether it be tax preparation, major purchases, or other critical decisions. We are in a natural position to do so since we will be familiar with all of your finances. And just like in business, it is not uncommon for us, as the CFO, to bring our ideas to you, the CEO, as well.

Long-lasting partnerships are built on trust, confidence, and a connection. Meet our financial planners. We do not charge to get to know each other so call us or come in the office for a conversation.
